Orange Rose

6" x 11"

wood panel

acrylic paint, acrylic ink, pen

This was a gift for my mother. Both of my siblings occasionally create artwork, so I found a reference image of the same rose for us each to draw in our own styles. I’m a mixed media artist, my brother makes insanely tiny, detailed line drawings (usually digital), and my sister creates still life in oil pastel. I mounted each drawing to the same size wood panel then mounted in a custom slotted frame, which is why the stem (and my signature) are a little above the bottom edge.

If I were to do this again, I would require we all use the same colors to further highlight the style differences.
